چکیده

The strong coupling limit (βgauge = 0) of lattice QCD with staggered fermions enjoys the same non-perturbative properties as continuum QCD, namely confinement and chiral symmetry breaking. In contrast to the situation at weak coupling, the sign problem which appears at finite density can be brought under control for a determination of the full (μ ,T ) phase diagram by Monte Carlo simulations. Further difficulties with efficiency and ergodicity of the simulations, especially at the strongly first-order, low-T , finite-μ transition, are addressed respectively with a worm algorithm and multicanonical sampling. Our simulations reveal sizeable corrections to the old results of Karsch and Mütter [1]. Comparison with analytic mean-field determinations of the phase diagram shows discrepancies of O(10) in the location of the QCD critical point.

We study the phase diagram of quark matter at finite temperature (T) and chemical potential (µ) in the strong coupling region of lattice QCD for color SU(3). Baryon has effects to extend the hadron phase to a larger µ direction relative to T c at low temperatures in the strong coupling limit. With the 1/g 2 corrections, T c is found to decrease rapidly as g decreases, and the shape of the phase...

Strong coupling lattice study of 1/g2 evolution in phase diagram and baryon mass

We investigate the phase diagram and the baryon mass (MB) in the color SU(Nc = 3) strong coupling lattice QCD with one species of staggered fermions at finite quark chemical potential (μ) and/or finite temperature (T ). In particular, their evolution with the finite coupling (1/g2) is studied in the next to leading order of the strong coupling expansion. We formulate the treatment of the tempor...

Gluon Condensate and Parton Propagation in a Quark-gluon Plasma

Finite temperature QCD can be used to describe properties of a quark-gluon plasma (QGP) possibly created in the fireball of relativistic heavy ion collisions and in the early Universe. There are two different methods available, namely lattice QCD and perturbation theory. Lattice QCD is a non-perturbative method, which can be used at all temperatures above and below the phase transition. However...

Color Superconductivity of QCD at High Baryon Density ∗ Hai - cang

At sufficiently high baryon density, a quark matter is expected to become a color superconductor because of the pairing forces mediated by gluons. The theoretical aspect of this novel phase of the strong interaction is reviewed with the emphasis on the perturbation theory of QCD at high chemical potential and low temperature. The derivation of the scaling formula of the supercon-ducting transit...

Diquark condensation at strong coupling

The possibility of diquark condensation at sufficiently large baryon chemical potential and zero temperature is analyzed in QCD at strong coupling. In agreement with other strong coupling analysis, it is found that a first order phase transition separates a low density phase with chiral symmetry spontaneously broken from a high density phase where chiral symmetry is restored. In none of the pha...
